7 of the 20 leds in my rear brake/taillight burned out. I had a running light, but when I hit the brakes...no change. I got a replacement that is the same, but for some strange reason, the yellow is the ground. The running light comes on, but the brake light doesn't work.

I have switched the other 2 wires (blue and red/yellow) and still can't get the brake light to come on.

Which of those 2 is the brake hotwire?

What is that extra orange/white wire that seems to have no purpose?

Is there a fuse/relay/switch for the rear brake that could be bad?

The black wire into my new light is the running light. The red is the brake light.

If I touch the blue wire or the red/yellow to the black, I get my running light. If I touch the blue wire or the red/yellow wire to the red wire, I get the brake light.

Doesn't that mean the circuit for the brake light is always "on"?

Do I have a ground problem somewhere related to the brake hotwire?
