Can someone send me a picture of just the radiator fan & give me the diameter ? I'd like to see if I can talk Flex A Lite into making one of tier new Flex Wave fans for the VROD. You can pm me Thanks

Here's a Spal pdf document that Danno posted back in 2005. It shows a drawing of the radiator fan used for the VRSC.

The VRSC fans used by HD are Spal "pull" type. For the early models (2002 & 2003) the fans used where Spal P/N VA31-A101-46 A. In 2004 HD changed these to a special dual fan unit = Spal P/N 2VA58-A101-46A. This dual unit is only available to HD.

The fan diameter for both versions is 130 mm = 5.118".
Steve, big thanks. I'll see if I can get some traction with them to produce these. For late model we'd need two blade units in "pull" correct ? I'm hoping the blades can be swapped without replacing the motors & housings.

What's the intent by doing this?

Per the Flex A Lite press release, the design of the fan blades moves something in the range of 15-25% more airflow at the same rpm. Here is one release; https://www.dragzine.com/news/new-p...roduces-revolutionary-flex-wave-electric-fan/

Did some research and it is interesting. I'd sooner see increased rad area to have the fans come on less but since we are stuck with minimal rad area and the need for fans, having them run for shorter periods due to increased efficiency is a good trade off. I did check and amp draw remains about the same, so that's good.
