I've heard of a lot of people using Amsoil in their bikes, but haven't been able to pinpoint what weight people are using? Is the 20W-50 the way to go?

Going to be approaching the 1000k mile "first maintenance" ... I do have a very reputable/good service department (shocker, I know) but will still be doing the oil change myself.
