Thread Title says it all...if you have something custom that you have designed, let us see it! :)

This is more based towards non commercial items...stuff from us, the average joe... Not so much from large vendors which items are already for sale

Im trying to design a simple, yet effective blinker setup which wont be extremely noticeable.

This is my first attempt...nothing serious...it would be gloss black, but I made it gray so that it would be easier to see in the picture

LEDs would light up the strip

let me know what you guys think about this though? Maybe I'd make the metal strip a little more narrow

I designed this shift light housing and had a local stereo installation place make it for me and then had it chrom painted: http://www.1130cc.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=78986&d=1179078618 another view: http://www.1130cc.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=78982&d=1179078618

By the way that directional setup is nice.
Thats pretty kool bro...how did they make that? out of what?

I could use something like that as part of a radar detector...LED indicator lights..I've been thinking of a way to incorporate a radar detector on the bike

Here are some pics of my folding side mounted license plate holder I had on my bike for years before goint to a traditional fender mount from Eurocomponents, the funny thing is that when I entered the bike into the ride in H-D show at Daytona the engineers took a lot of pics and asked a bunch of questions about it and now low and behold the same type of bracket is used on the Mucsle from the factory :stilpoke: (regular view) : http://www.1130cc.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=51080&d=1148171328

It is a Raptor shift light and they made the housing out of fiberglass.

wait...fiberglass?? how'd you chrome it then?
It was chrome paint. It actually didn't hold up well. I'm in the process of doing it over in black.

I like it...maybe round the corners at the bottom more...I think two strips running down it would look sweet!

Lights in the rear of the base plate on my 03.
I had also made some lights using solid aluminum round stock as the housings, then held the lights in w screws attached to the base plate where the rack would bolt.I don't have the lights anymore for a pic.

jsc ,made into reality what was in my mind ,which was the front section of the stock fender put on the back to give it a bit more length ,and keep the stock part on top so i could use the stock bracket to mount it ,i also like the the shape of the front and never liked the squarer finish on the bottom edge of a stock fender

I made a stainless bracket to relocate the hd chrome rear indicators to about the same spot as you intend. I had these, like theme and had led's in it already.

What you designed looks good. I did buy strips like that at a carparts store. these where made to stick under the door handle. 4 2'' strips complete with wires 12volt for 15 buks. now lights up the engine.

pics in my gallery of the bracket:

I designed forward controls back in 2003 and tried to find someone to make them. Couldn't get them done for anything reasonable so I posted pics here. Three months later v-mod started selling a set...

I have sold some of my stuff but it is basically because I was so sick of no one making parts for our bikes or worse yet charging double because they could. I make all of my stuff in my basement.

First thing I made, mirror stems

Next was license plate

First try at forward controls

Version 2 of the controls

One of my first paying jobs, license plate for japan

First set of sold forwards

New design sidemount

LED sidemount

And the last thing was rear light relocators

I really love making stuff (especially new custom stuff) for our bikes. I really don't make much money at it because I just don't feel right charging someone a ton of money. Hopefully by this time next year I may actually pay off my initial investment... Haha!
