I had posted a question under EFI because my bike wasn't idling after the install of the new plenum. I'd incorporated the design feature of filterd air intake for the IAC. The consensus was I needed a 1/4 x 1/4 passage from each throttle bore to the pintle valve area. I can report that that is the case. I hogged mine out & it works great again, I'd had insufficient volume. Thanks to all you guys who chimed in !

Which plenum Rod?
I don't think you would need to change anything on my plenum but the back tank wouldn't be used for anything.
The one that is made in this Thread. I think Karzza did a great job on this.

I would say this is a fair attempt.. The intake fires the air against the opposite wall which has a splitter built in pushing the air around in a swirl. The lid is a bit close to the bell mouths but it could work well. Volume is reasonable, could be worth testing with very short bellmouths?

So we could use a tts plenum for a turbo application and it would work well?

Why Short Bellmouths?

Everything I read says to keep the turbulent air below the runner.

So to make sure there is enough volume of air, the plenum was raised to include the lid. Thus putting in taller runners.

Yours is flatter in height, and longer.

I say we both have the same thing. Pressure is pressure. the hard part is to equal the cylinders with that pressure! :D

Exception is that, now we have the extra ports for NoS or Meth spray and temp and IAT sensor. :notworth:

I would really like to see a combination of all the plenums.

Yes I think it still can be improved.

I am still working on mine.

No excuses here, just to darn busy to find the time.:banghead:

Short BM will give more room above them to get the air in, that's all. We have a screw in replacement IAT sensor that screws in the bottom of the plenum. Good luck with what you have..

It is just hanging in the air.

I beat it to death.

If your like me you just keep plugging away, based on idea's, experience and weeding out other people's thoughts and a bit of science. Time is your enemy.
Yes Sir, Experience is a good teacher. I listen well.

I am looking forward to getting this plenum on the bike this winter.

A cross-section of 53 mm butterfly is 2206 mm2
An area where air is going to velocity stack (a cylinder between the belly and the lid) is 4894 mm2

As a conclusion, the area of air is going to the velocity stack is 2.2 times as large as the cross-section of the butterfly. It should be enough?

At the moment we have only a fact 270 rwhp (at 1 bar) can flow through the plenum. The Dynostar I'm using is an official "Bomber Magazine Power King Challenge"-dyno in the country. It is known the most of Dynojets here would show 300rwhp.

I will make a flow bench study how many cfm it flows. If I will found out this is restricting a flow, I will shortening the velocity stacks by 3 mm. It is not a big deal.

I know you have a good handle on it. Your right about Dyno figures as well. I have a Dynapro which shows 'real' and Dynojet power. I go with the Dynojet as they sold many more dyno's then anyone else.

No room, the flange+plenum is 123 mm high and a flat top.
I don't think this is the first issue if willing more power:moon:

Wrist pin bushings etc are.

The Trask unit is really good for what it does. Karzaa's unit is "better" if you want to step up boost, run an intercooler/ nitrous/multiple injectors. Mine could be easily duplicated & might be "better" if you are going to do a maximum effort race project. I'd suggest a set of cams/springs/ head work from Mike Jones.

One complete K&M (Karzza) Plenum unit with flange still available w/o surface finishing. Can be polished or anodized. Decided not to install turbo at this time.

Four Flange units also still available.

PM contacts me or Karzza if interested in.

Boost regards,

...and those are yours mr. Lane and mr. RSC.

If some more interest appears, we can make another 4pcs.
Every single "nut" is made of 7000 serie aluminum, AISI316 or Viton.

Still one more plenum kit for sale.
