With AutoTune active, is the data in the trim table an average of several samples taken over time or just a snap shot of the last sample taken?

I'm wondering if it's a better idea to let autotune remain on for a while if it's continues to collect and average the trim data or if the data stored is just the last sample. If it's only the last sample then there is really no reason to leave it on since it's not averaging (trying to store the ideal map for a driving style).

I'm going to run a few tests to verify what really happens. If the data is continuously collected and stored over time and I leave Autotune on for a week or so the amount free memory in the PCV should decrease over time. If it's just the last sample thats stored, the amount of free memore should not change (just gets overwritten). I have a feeling it's the latter but if anyone can confirm, that would be great..

Thx,
