Hi everyone,

I have winter project in my mind. I'm putting v-rod front end to my 1982 XLH Ironhead Sportster.

I'm a new member here and tried to search earlier topics but can't find part numbers for front end guts of v-rod. :notworth:

Earlier bought v-rod triple trees and just won ebay auction which includes lower legs and brake parts etc.

Came to this problem that I need inside stuff for atleast sliders.
It would help a lot if I know what part numbers those bushings, seals, dampers and everything is. :banghead:

If someone could send pm to me with picture of part manuals pages concerning these? :notworth:

Does someone know if there is diffrence in v-rod and dyna 49mm upper tubes that would help also. Those 49mm tubes aren't easy to find atleast when looking long ones?

Here is some more info Tripple trees I have is 2003 and Sliders something between 2002-2005 if this helps. I think it's same parts between those years.

V chopper guys where have you bought your tubes?

If someone wants to sell oem upper tubes I might buy those. :broke:

The individual part count for the fork tubes and slider internals is quite extensive:
45070-01 slider cover (X2) $25.00 (not needed if included with your sliders)
45405-75A damper tube screw with sealing washer(X2) $2.44
46504-01 fork tube (X2) $183.90
46507-01 fork cap (X2) $42.00
46508-01 o-ring (X2) $2.00
46509-01 washer (X2) $2.00
46510-01 spring spacer (X2) $17.80
46511-01 compression spring (X2) $16.00
46512-01 dust seal (X2) $11.20 (not needed if included with your sliders)
46513-01 stopper ring (X2) $1.60 (not needed if included with your sliders)
46514-01 oil seal (X2) $11.30 (not needed if included with your sliders)
46515-01 seal spacer (X2) $3.30 (not needed if included with your sliders)
46516-01 bushing guide (X2) $6.40 (not needed if included with your sliders)

Total for these parts is $363.90 (MSRP) I think you should get the Parts Catalog (99457-02A) and Service Manual (99501-02A) in order to sort these out and get them put together.

Another option is to purchase the entire fork assemblies (with sliders): 46756-01 (right fork, MSRP $325) and 46757-01 (left fork, MSRP $325).

These Harley VRSC forks use the rather crude, damper rod technology. Storz (http://www.storzperf.com/jpgs/page5.html) has 49 mm fork assemblies that use cartridge damping. Unfortunately they're rather expensive (about $2300) but they come in various lengths in chrome or black finish.

I allready found vrsca service manual on cd which I ordered from ebay.
8.09 Euro including postage.

I have parts and service manuals for both of my bikes but this need is just for the front end and I think I can get it up with this manual coming.

And of course with your help with these part#.

Now I can buy these few items a time.
