I am just curious which way is better to eliminate the possibility of the oil in the air box issue. I am new to all this so please have patience. I don’t see any residue but I just want to prevent it. Thanks in advance for advice
Oil accumulation from the crankcase vapors is normal for an internal combustion engine. The catch can is your friend, and is pretty standard on race car engines. Either the vapors are ingested by the intake tract, and the can is there to give the oil a place to go instead of being ingested and gumming up your valves and intake ports.
Breather hose filters are just going to introduce the fumes to the atmosphere, but they'll eventually get all clogged up from the oil that condenses.
You're fixing a non-existent problem. Just periodically clean out the catch can. it's not a big deal.
