Ode to the R

I got me a Harley,
and I think she’s just swell.
But I bought the one model
that Harley couldn’t sell.

They call it a Street Rod
to ride it’s a blast.
But the bike’s discontinued,
and the parts list won’t last.

It seems she’s to different,
for the twisties was bred.
But the Harley accountants,
could only see red.

So I got me a Harley
and now I can tell.
That I bought the best bike ever,
that Harley just couldn’t sell.

Ya man reminded me of back in the mid 80's a buddy and me got two new sporters 1000’s I got the XLX 1000 and he got the XR 1000 the one they only made for 1 or 2 years had the twin carb's w/ K&N's and he stills has that bike today! Cool just like the R will be. The other part of the story is I got the R and on one of my first rides I found him out on a ride he was on his BMW 1150gs and he did not know I had got the R and we got over to the side of the road to talk and he was real surprised that it was me and the first thing he said you know there is nothing like a Harley! You referenced the word "Harley" five times and "Street Rod" once in a flagrant display of copyright infringement. Expect a couple lawyers at your door in an hour with black suits and orange ties to collect royalties...

Yeah, we have to start spelling Harley "Haley" and Street Rod "Steet Rad".

Just as a little side. I went to my HD dealer today and they had a sign just inside the door that said, "Win this Bike!". Yep you guest it, it was an 06 black "R" that they could not sell. The contest was free to enter and is suppose to be cosponsored by a local radio station, but so far nothing on their website. OK by me, the less entries, the better my chances are of winning my second R!
