Can anyone look up the sizes of the rear axle and pivot shaft nuts for a 2005 A. The rear axle nuts are larger than 33mm (don't have the ability to measure larger than that). The pivot shaft nut is larger than 24mm.

What are the sizes?

The parts book says that the Rear Axle Nut is an PN 8020 - NUT, M24 X 2.0 meaning 24mm and the Pivot Shaft Nut is a PN 7460M - NUT, LOCKING HEX, M20 X 2.5 meaning a 20mm nut size.

The nuts on my bike are MUCH larger than both those ratings.

Any ideas?

Found this in a past posting:

The 2005 and up are 36mm.

The 2002-2004 are 24mm.

They changed the rear axle size in 2005.

RJ

Thanks RJ - you're a genius...the Part book for the 2005 is wrong apparently - go figure!

So...what about the Pivot Shaft Nut? Anyone? RJ?

I thought I was going to have to move this to the bar for a second. If you have the 36mm axle nuts, you might have the 30mm nut and a 14mm allen for the pivot shaft.

Thanks Night...and you're MUCH too sexy to be sitting in a bar by yourself :)

Those sizes are the threaded area not the wrench size.
