They all operate on much the same principal. While I mostly play with DJ stuff and having reviewed this HD product, I see no reason it shouldn't work reasonably well. Keep in mind, any tuner that cliams 49 state legal, translates to limited range of adjustability for AFR. That said, what you want to accomplish, it should be fine.

Check your fitment against the website & your VRod. What I just read it is incompatible with your Bike.
Before you add a tuner check for intake Air leaks & proper functioning of your AIC module. Get it operating correctly before you add a tuner, High Volume Air Cleaner & New Exhaust.

Agree. I never checked that. Just did. Only for late model Canbus.

Thanks for the head's up Teazzr! It's my first HD and it HAD to be VROD! I kept my ZX11D pretty much stock except air cleaner & spark plugs. Excited about EFI but learning curve is steep.
With what Teazzr said, I'm looking for something that can keep the idle fixed(as best an ECM can do), supply power (i'm 250lbs) but not go drag racing. Hopefully the dealer figures out the rough idle issue it's a bummer after pushing the bike abit and then stopping and that idle just starts jumping and dropping like a jumprope, but at least it stop dying like before.
idle just starts jumping and dropping like a jumprope,
It's hunting for idle, cars/trucks will do the same when the idle air passages get carboned up

Idle hunting , 9/10 it's from the idle VE area being too lean.

I see he's looking for a tuner, Isn't the bike currently stock with no tuner? Running stock tune, so idle calibrations would be stock? Idle relearn?
