Hi Everyone, I've just bought a 2007 VRSCDX and it is still completely standard. I want to make some customisations to it and was wondering if you could give me some recommendations for certain parts and where to buy them:
- Forward control conversion kit
- Stage one kit, personal opinion I know but womdering what the better brand exhaust, air filter etc are
- Rear tail tidy for brake and indicators
- Side mount number plate holder

Think that's about it. Cheers for your help in advance!! Can't wait for it to be delivered Monday!

I have the same bike as you and I'm happy with the Danmoto Highwayman exhaust paired with a Power Vision and high flow air filter.
I haven't done much else besides that though.

I kept my baffles in though, she's plenty loud as-is.

Idk how familiar you are with the performance gains but the cliche "pulls like a freight train" explains it pretty well when compared to stock.

I was on the fence between thundermax ecm or power vision with the auto tune kit but decided to just do pv for now then up it when I want to add more (when my better half isn't looking).

Are you thinking about adding a wider rear tire?
I went that route, metzeler marathon me880, as my first mod.

You want a chopped fender or just relocate the license plate and turn signals?

Oh yeah and how many miles?

I'd like a chopped fender single seat but I don't want to actually chop into the stock rear fender as I like to be able to sell bikes standard or have everything standard to go with it. It's done 3300 miles! It will probably do more miles this year than it did in the last 12!

Is the power vision not a good purchase long term then if you have to change it if you want to do more upgrades? Think a stage 1 might be worthwhile then. I'm presuming its a lot cheaper to buy and do myself compared to letting my local HD do it...

For me it's perfect. I just download a tune then flash it to my bike. After that I just put it back in the drawer until I'm ready to mod some more.
There's an accessory for it that connects 02 sensors to your exhaust if you get an exhaust that supports it (like the Danmoto) then just run auto tune to retune the bike after any upgrades.

Yeah it's always cheaper to do the work yourself if you have the time. Plus if something breaks you can either fix it or articulate the problem to someone who can.
Yes I also have the 2007 V-Rod Night Rod special and I recommend the D&D Fat Cat two in one full system exhaust very nice my opinion one of the best sounds on the market the only downside is eatel get much of a real hard right hand turn because exhaust sits lower and longer than per se are bench and hind two in one competition and also I have the mezeler 880 it's a 280 gives it a beautiful look also custom Dynamics makes an integrated rear brake with turn signals that way you can do away with the whole Factory setup for the license plate turn signals and all of that and relocate it with a side mount license plate bracket
