Hi everyone. I just discovered this forum so decided to sign up.

I live in the MatSu Valley north of Anchorage. I've had many motorcycles over the years, starting with a 1976 KZ400 when I was in college.

Currently, I have a 2011 V-Rod, a 2003 Heritage Softail and a 2011 Yamaha V-Star I "inherited" from my youngest when he left for the Air Force 3 years ago.

We have a shorter riding season up here than most places, but we make up for it with outstanding scenery and lousy roads.

I hope to be an active participant in the times to come.

Sounds familar. Located just above the Arctic Circle myself.
Welcome to 1130cc! Pictures always welcome. (y)

My youngest kid and I had just come home from a ride to Talkeetna for lunch.

Welcome to the forum. Nice bike! Sure does seem like a lot of us older guys are on VROD's. With age comes wisdom, I guess. LOL!

One of my bucket list adventures is a round trip to Alaska from central US.
Won’t be doing it on the Vrod. ;)
I may hit you up for some information to help me plan the trip though.

My youngest rode the Alaska Highway on my Heritage Softail when he was 17. Myself, I would need something more comfy, a Geezer Glide Classic perhaps.

I've always loved my VROD. It is a keeper. But if I had to keep only 1 of my bikes. These days. It would be the Goldwing. They eat up the highway like candy. Most of my trips are a few thousand miles. Took the VROD on one and it did awesome. It was a great ride. I've had Ultra Classics and others. But for all day comfort. The Wing is King.
