Harley-Davidson has just announced some new V-Rod accessories. (Dealers have probably known about them for a few weeks, since they let them order them before announcing them to the public.)

The new bits include a skull-emblazoned touring windshield; traditional leather saddlebags; a chrome cover for your rear brake master cylinder (the horror!); and (as a direct slap at those "Hot Toppers" weasels) some chrome-plated brass covers sized to fit on the M6 metric hex cap screws holding your engine covers on.

Check 'em out .

I think the chrome master cylinder cover is going to be HUGE. Better get my order in to Chicago HD now :thumb:

Well, the buckles will solve the POS velcro problem on the POS older soft leather saddlebags I have, but these new ones look pretty awful. I wonder if they fixed the glue problem on the reflectors with these.

Traditional syle bags just do not work with the V-Rod. The hard bags may hold less, but look way better. Fugly IMHO. Get the Leatherworks Nickle Saddlebags that most HD Dealers carry. They look bettter and are easily removable.

Hey Val, I made my bags work better by shaving the long fuzz on the velcro strips. The extra fuzz hindered the velvro stick action. They are still unsatisfactory, but better.

Bad glue by design....nobody keeps the reflectors. Do they? :)

Daniii, we tried shaving the velcro the other night, too, and it didn't help. We just had a safey razor, so maybe we didn't take enough off? What did you use?

At this point, I have the right side bungied closed with genuwhine HD black bungy cords. Lookin like a baglady here...

Val, I used my beard clipper with the shortest clipper head attached. Its better, but still not really acceptable. I have straps in my bags for when I have any flyaway objects stored. (I have lost a couple of gloves).

BTW, My bags don't have reflectors, which I guess is a good thing, as they can't come off.
