I just installed these last week. The lower guard should have come with a new grooved, rubber isolator, you have to undo the screw that holds it in place and replace it with the provided isolator re-using the washer. The plastic lower guard is thicker than the chrome steel. If you do not replace the isolator, the guard will not fit tight. It slides into the isolator, it is a very snug fit.
