Need Help Please

I've been riding a Sportster and last week bought a 2003 VRSCA Anniversary V-Rod. I LOVE IT!!!! As with most, it has forward controls. I would like to convert it to mid controls. I found a guy who has a 2006 VRSCD that he converted from mids to forward controls. He is willing to sell me the mid controls. He believes he has all the parts, but not being mechanically inclined, he is not sure of the total parts list. Being a new owner, I can't speak fluent V-Rod at this time. Can someone tell me what a complete list of parts needed to convert my bike? Also will the mids work with stock 2003 exhaust?

Seems to me, I'm asking for a lot of work from someone else, but you don't know what you don't know. Hopefully with time and experience I can add to the forum.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to consider reduced reach forward mounts . It would be a lot cheaper than converting to mids . There is a member on here that makes them ( Killer Vrod , Keith ) , I believe they will move your forward pegs 3" closer . I think you may have a problem with the mounting bolt for the right mid peg . Your '03 frame doesn't have anything there . I also think you can't use mids with your stock '03 exhaust . This all said , I have an '06-D with mids , and love them !
Mike, how tall are you? Inseam?

I've got a 30" inseam and the mids are really cramped for me. I've been looking to get my seat worked on just to increase the height by maybe 1.5", 2"?

I'm lucky enough to have both forwards/mids on my bike. The forwards are more comfortable with the reduced reach peg mounts. I love the idea of mids on my bike, but it's just really scrunched up, and I'm not a tall guy.
Hey Mike thanks for the referral. I made a set of reduced if the mids don't work for you.

I believe the owner of the "06 has the frame section to accommodate the mids. I'm under the impression you move the existing brake master cylinder which would require a shorter brake line. Am I correct with the following?
1) Frame section
2) Shorter brake line
3) Two Foot pegs
4) Two toe pegs
5) Shift linkage.

Anything else?
I am sure you will need some fittings as well but not sure what ones. Maybe what the guy is selling has all of it?
likesilver , I am 5'9" , with a 30" in-seam . I test rode several V-Rods with forward controls before I bought my 'D' . I didn't feel safe and in-control , my feet were too far out in front . I love my mid controls , plus the 'D' comes with forward pegs . I 'may' have been OK with 3" reduced-reach forward pegs , but I didn't ride any any bike with them installed . I sat on a Muscle at the dealer that had them , and they felt MUCH better than the normal forward controls .
G3Duck , the part of the frame that I'm talking about , is where you mount the right mid peg , just in-front of the swing arm . This part of the frame you can't change . Yes , the master cylinder get moved to just in front of the peg .
