Hey Everyone,

My Gauges have begun to mist up on the inside... Is this happening to anyone else?

I had mine mist up yesterday. Rode in the rain for about 2 hours. Had a cracked glass in the instrument cluster. Replaced under warranty.

Sorry guys,

Just saw the earlier thread on the same topic, I'm off to harass my dealer.

It's still a nasty problem, water marks/stains are left bhind after the moisture evaporates, you cant clean the underside of the window.

I've had 2 Roadkings with sealed speedos. In over 8 years not a single drop of moisture inside the gauge despite living in London and Dublin cities with huge amounts of rain and riding the bikes every day.

My Vrod unit is definitly faulty.

rodman while the gauges are sealed they are very easy to open up. I also see that the trip reset is not very tight and does not seal very well and can allow moisture to come in from the bottom of the cluster.

Thanks Max,

I will open up and probably silicone the gauge (after playing with the LEDs :goof: if the dealer refuses to replace. The bike is only 10 months old so I'm expecting pretty good warranty service....

we shall see.

I think that you might have hit the nail with the trip reset button, the other speedos might not have the same button mount as the new Vrod cluster... who knows!

Good news,

Dealer saw the gauge and immediatly ordered a replacement. Nice side effect: the bike will now go 10 mph faster
