Mid Controls move

Has anyone moved their mid controls slightly forward? Is it doable?
Are the parts out there? Footpegs can be done with Kuryakyn parts but not sure about the brake pedal and gear shifter. I have already converted my R to a standard seating position but the foot controls are a bit far back for upright position. I am not really looking to go all the way to forward controls, just move the mids slightly forward. (2 to 4 IN.) Thanks

Contact Keith at AlteredStateDesign. He may be able to help you.
If you can find a Kosman set you may with some creativity and help manage to hook up the brake and shift levers.

They basically used different length Heim Joint linkage rods to do this. While those supplied would not directly connect others could be rigged.
Thanks

Thanks guys, I have contacted Keith and he has some ideas.
Perfect ergonomics ain't cheap, but probably worth it.

DF - Let us know if you come up with something, I for one could really dig that. It would certainly require two new machined footpeg boss mounts for the frame, to do anything worthwhile and move them at least 2" fwd. Another option are the Variopegs to drop the pegs down in their present position. I got an R sport (small) engine guard, mounted a set of stock footpegs (small) on the guard with reverse switchblade style brackets and have highway pegs for cruising, use the mids for shifting, rear brake around town and in the mountains. It would be nice to have fwd. mids though - not cheap kinda like a set of fwd. facing rear sets, I'm thinking $ 1000 to engineer, machine them up right, powder coat, shift linkages, new brake lever etc. etc. Might just be worth it. Possible future group buy ? :blahblah: :D
Thanks Streetroderacer, I haven't found the perfect solution for myself and may not. I have already lowered the pegs 2" with Knight Design pegs but haven't found away to move everything forward. Brake, shifter, and pegs.

Hail Yayus!!
I looked at the lower frame link rail attach mounting bolts ( 2 ea. on each side ) which are right about where it would be perfect to have the two 6 " fwd. foot pegs mounts. Where the bolts go are counter bored bosses that would easily accept the back of an engineered footpeg mount bracket, then install longer bolts. The shifter side would be fairly easy to hook up with a shorter linkage going to the present shift lever on a similar pivot. The brake side would be somewhat more complex to make a linkage that would work with the rear master in the current placement as it would be difficult to move it fwd. with the hot 2-1 pipe right there in the way. It could be done, bring money and a CAD CAM fluent friend or an excellent machinist that could work off a drawing then tweak it till it's right. I'm sure not cheap but probably worth it. After I get my engine done I'm going to really look at this. If you come up with something let me know DF.
Mids

It doesn't look like it is gonna work out moving the foot controls forward. Keith at AlteredStateDesign thinks it would be more practical to go with forward controls and he is probably correct. Hopefully Streatrodracer might come up with something. I don't have those kind of skills. Thanks to those who replied.:moped:
