I'm not sure what helmets fit and which ones dont, I never tried placing one in the bag. The dimensions are around the middle of the page at the link below.

You can place it anyway you feel is secure on your bike and just get creative. I personally just used the two bungee cords and placed the bag on the passenger seat wrapped the cords around the shock towers and connected back up to the bag, see the link below for more ideas, otherwise do a search on this site because people have posted up there way of connecting the bag.

Joe it will fit on your passenger pillion. It has d-rings and you can bungee it to your shocks. I have put 3 on at one time and they have remained stable. I don't think this one is large enough to fit a helmet. The Bikers Friend website tells you what the dimensions and whether or not it will hold a helmet, ff or 1/2 helmet.
