More excellent retro info Knut - So the question is why the Hell did H-D do all this then drop the ball on paying it fwd with new models ? Call me crazy but the R model was a step in the right direction - albeit ahead of it's time ( today and if done right it would sell in big numbers in the era of bobbers. lighter, faster bikes ) so the vision died due to lack of interest ? Too many H-D faithful Poo-pooing the excellent engine, frame etc.? Perhaps H-D wishes they had a full lineup of performance Revo powered bikes they could have had to sell now ? Or maybe they just don't get it to actually realize they squandered an excellent opportunity that the younger market would be attracted to ? Live by the sword, die by the sword ? I hope not but what's happening now at H-D ain't pretty to watch.
