Just wondering if lowering the rear (only) of my 2003 with 1" shorter shcoks, will it effect the handling/steering in any way ???

Also, does anyone have experience with the Super Sport vs Sport windshields ???

I have the Super Sport and get quite a bit of buffeting - have read elsewhere that the Sport is better ???

Any advice ???

Thanks to all,

Emery

Hi Emery,
Well your cornering clearance will be adversely affected. I would drop your triple tree ½" and see how that combo works. IF you enjoy aggressive cornering, I would strongly suggest you DON'T lower it at all however.

lowering

I lowered my bike 1" with the Progressive shocks. I like the look of the fender being lower on the tire and I also lowered the seat.
When I am stopped at a light, my legs are really bent. The handling is a little better because of the new shocks. I posted some pix in the gallery.

Two threads on this board...

look here for the general discussion:

Super Sport Windscreen

Look here for pics of mounting sport shield using your old Super Sport Hardware (which is about an 1.5" shorter...):

There are many mentions about how to setup the Touring Windshield with Memphis lowers, which makes an excellent shield combo....
