LED turn signal question

So obviously I have the hyowr flash/ red key light on dash after installing LED signals. My question is this. I know I can install a load equalizer and solve issue but can I also just put in aftermarket flasher relay instead? I heard this will take care of the flash but Wil it remedy the red key light on dash? Thanks

You sure that is the issue? I installed LED and it was plug and play. Hopefully someone with more expertise will chime in
Yeah I believe the muscle cane with led and there is no issue I ya e a 2015 night rod I think that’s why some don’t have issues

I don't know what you mean by the word "hyowr" and you don't mention what year and model bike you have so I'm not really sure what your symptoms are, but I can say that an aftermarket flasher relay won't work on a VRSC bike.

The signal lights and emergency flashers are operated by a required TSM/TSSM/HFSM that has a lamp flashing circuit built in. This is the device you have mounted wrong that's causing your TIP shutdown mention in this thread. An external flasher relay would just cause more problems. If the TSM/TSSM/HFSM doesn't see the required current flow on the turn signal circuit it will assume a missing or failed bulb and switch to a rapid flashing mode. This will also set code(s) (depends on year and model) and turn on the red key light you mentioned. You can sometimes install LEDs in the front or back without triggering this issue but replacing both front and rear incandescent lights with LEDs will likely reduce current draw enough to require a load equalizer.
Sorry about the typo. It’s a 2015 night rod special and I meant “rapid flash”. So judging by your answer sounds like I just need the load equalizer. Have any particular ones you recommend? There are a bunch out there. Also I only need to install one correct? For either the rear turn signals or the front? Thanks!

I don't have personal experience with any of the load equalizers out there, but you only need one of the type designed with a right and left circuit. The TSM/TSSM/HFSM have separate left and right circuits but the front and rear lamps are powered by the same circuit.
