As of today, I am planning on being there for at least one day. If I don't have to work, I can be there on Saturday afternoon. The job is running me in circles these days and I may be in CA that weekend if my current project schedule runs over to that weekend...

Great to have you guys joining us. Around the first of April I'll be firming things up and getting details together for the meet. I'm off to Thailand for 3 weeks. I'll be back in touch on my return.

You don't need a permit in AZ, which is where much of the activity is located. :diablo:

Who is organizing that V-Rod ride down Casino Drive? What's going on with that? I'd like to be there and see you guys.

I'm not trying to be a PITA but someone has to jump on and organize the ride if it's going to happen. I only check in 2 or 3 times a week but I'm not seeing any post re: V-Rod activity at Laughlin River Run.

Kaz, you'll be there. Maybe you can be the organizer? PM me on the VTF if you want any suggestions. And if anyone else is interested in organizing the ride down Casino Drive or an "eyeball", I'll be glad to help.

Ok guys... I'm back yesterday from Thailand. WOW! My advice... run to the nearest travel agent and get your ticket!! What a place! Lots of great times to be had. Much better if you're single (which I'm not) Saw a 02 VROD for sale in the paper in Bangkok! Just goes to so you that we're worldwide.

Now...on to the River Run.

I'll be heading down on Weds. The plan is to meet Saturday at 3:00 PM for a 4:00 PM run. By the look of the responses so far we may have about 20 riders. Was hoping for more and will probably get them in the coming weeks. The plan is to meet at 3:00, at a place to be determined, then run the strip at 4:00. I'm checking on a good location for the meet that is out of the way of "traffic" and will post it soon. Was also thinking about maybe a group meeting for drinks/chow later that evening. About a week out I will contact everyone who said they would be attending on this thread to confirm.

Jim, I'll PM you separately.

Hey Zeeman - any chance you could start another thread in the "Off Topic" section about your trip to Thailand? I've got a couple buddies doing their best to convince me to make the trip with them in May. I'm curious what someone's else's take is on it other than the hooligans talking me into it. Just for a frame of reference for the info. I'm looking for - we're all single, working "professionals" in our mid-late twenties who are really only professionals at having/finding a good time.

Kaz - congrats on the Hot Bike shoot. They've pretty much monopolized the custom/aftermarket motorcycle magazines so getting some V-ROD exposure in it will be awesome. Maybe when they're taking your "action" shot (I'm sure you'll talk 'em into a killer burnout) you should be wearing your new V-ROD FORUM t-shirt. :rofl2:

So this year will be my first time to the Laughlin event. I've been to the Poor Man's Rally (Sturgis) many times (that's wear I grew up) and the Rich Man's Rally (Daytona) once. I'm curious how Laughlin compares. Anyone been to all three who can give me an idea of what to expect? Also, if you're driving from SoCal, what's the best route? Hwy CA15 to CA40 to AZ95?

OK, I'm leaving for Laughlin in a couple of hours to determine a meeting location, etc. I will post a message on a new thread with all info either late tonight or early tomorrow. Keep watching and look forward to as many of us as possible gathering in Laughlin. :thumb:

Hey Folks,

I'm not sure I can make Laughlin, but if you're going through Wyoming or Colorado to get there let me know. It would be fun to meet up, even if only for lunch. (I'm near Boulder, Cheyenne is about 90 miles.) You can Private Message me if you want. If not, have a great time in Laughlin anyways!

Cheers,

(I'm also posting details here. Go to other thread for map.)

Ok, here’s the details for the VROD gathering at the Laughlin River Run. We will meet at 3:00 on Saturday, April 24th, at the Texaco station located across the street from Harrah’s and next to the Harrah’s RV park. Harrah’s is located at the far South end of the strip on the hill.

(see map)

We will form up at 3:45 and move out of the lot promptly at 4:00. The plan is to travel in formation north on the strip to Rt163, turn left, go west to Laughlin Civic Center Dr, turn back east to the Strip, then return back to our start point. Traffic is fairly heavy so the entire loop will probably take about an hour. Afterwards, the plan is to find the nearest watering hole that will take in this heathen bunch and tip a few back. I will be in Laughlin on Weds so I will try to coordinate a watering hole. I will also have my phone with me. You can reach me at (702)610-9529 anytime on Sat after 8:00 AM. As you know, KAZ’s Hot Bike shoot will also take place during the Laughlin River Run. Keep watching this thread for more details. I would appreciate an email from any of you who know you will be attending this ride. It will help me with further planning. You can email me at:
