I'm at work,so pardon the ignorance.Is there any certain orientation it needs to be when I install after I clean?

It really shouldn't matter which way the wires point but your harness and how it's bents should tell you how it was.

No a TPS (throttle position sensor) reads the throttle position in voltage. The IAC (idle air control) has a pindel that moves in and out and controls the amount of air that is allowed in the engine at idle to control the idle. They actually work hand in hand on most engines.
