Hello.

I have a 2006/2007 Nightrod(Black Denim) with a stock swingarm and a 180 rear tire.
I just bought a 240 wheel from an 2009 AW with the narrow sprocket.
Is it possible to put this on? I want to use the 180 fender.

Questions:
- Do I have to change the compensator bowl?
- If yes, how can I remove it from both the wheels?

Please somebody help me.

THNX.

I’m not sure about fender fitment with the wider tire but according to the 2007 parts catalog all of the VRSC models use the same compensator cushion (40434-01) and the 2007 VRSCAW/D/DX/X all use the same compensator bowl (40669-07) so I don’t see any reason to change it. These are the same parts used up through the current 2010 models.

The 2007 VRSCR uses the early model compensator bowl (40438-01) because it has the wider rear drive sprocket.

There is a difference between the 2006 and 2007 VRSCD. In 2007 H-D went with a wider frame and swingarm which also allowed fitment of the 5 gallon tank. For the 2006 I suggest that you look up the budget 240 in the how-to. For the 2007 someone just completed putting F model wheels onto an older bike and some of the things he needed to do you will also need since from 2008 and on the wheels axles are 25mm as opposed to 1".

but yes, you can keep your stock 180 fender. Nothing looks better than a 240 under a 180 fender
