Hole in valve cover?

1004 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Roscoeisthecool
I noticed the rear valve cover was leaking oil so I pulled the coolant reservoir off I noticed this hole in the valve cover. This might be a stupid question but the hole is threaded, so is there supposed to be a boat there or something else like I plug or something? I can't find any pictures of the top of the valve cover for reference.

No bolt goes there. The oil leak is probably that vent hose. It looks to be leaking. Pretty normal stuff on these.
I think on some of the earlier v rods they used two coil bolts and the later models only one. Doubt the hole is leaking but if it is, clean it up and a dab of loctite (blue) and a bolt in the hole will seal it.

No bolt goes there and yes 100 percent sure that it's the rear breather hose.
Yeah I replaced the rear breather hose and put a new throttle body gasket on it because that was getting pretty bad as well. Just took it for a ride and everything is nice and clean.
Thanks folks
