There are some awsome paint jobs out there on the Rods. Guys like me on a budget can't really let go of a couple grand or more on a really nice paint job. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any graphic companies who made a decal package for the Rod that looks good. I would just do without than have something that looked cheesy. I seen on this forum at one time, someone had posted flame decals that I really did not care for.

I had a friend of mine rebuild a wrecked Ultra and he bought Harley decals and clear coated over them and it looked real good. I had thought about something like that but I don't know about clear coating the skins on my aluminum 03.

Let's hear what you all think.

Best thing to do is find a local vinyl lettering comp. in your area and talk with them, you will be amazed what they could do these days. GOOD LUCK

try http://www.purpleharley.com/
I recently worked with them on some custom reflective decals which turned out awesome. They were super quick and always returned e-mail messages right away. They have airbrushed decals that are reasonable priced

IMO...........if you are truely wanting to customize your VRod then dont put any stickers on it! In the long run you wont be happy and you will always see the other custom painted bikes and would have wanted yours that way.

My suggestion would be to keep saving $$ and do some serious shopping around to custom painters. There are some out there that will do some great work and wont kill you on the price! If you go to a high priced paint shop........you will pay high prices. Got to a few bike nights and talk with some people and you might get lucky.
Best to wait and save and get it painted for a much better look! IMO the decals look cheezy.

If your finding you cant wait till you save up some $$ try scoping out some art schools who specialise in painting. I know there is at least one in Boston that was showing some students work at the recent World of Wheels in Boston and some of the paint work was very good.

Just my .02
Good luck

CW,

I think your right. I look at my ride now and think....Man that looks cool. Therefore I don't want to screw it up with goofy decals. I'm gonna look into some alternatives. I have a jr college in my back yard with an auto body class. I'm gonna take a look into that and see if there are any artsy people there who might want to give it a try.
