I am new to the V-Rod family and this forum. I handed in the 99 Super Glide for an 03 V-Rod. Put 800 miles on the day I bought it and I love it. I can't say enought about the bike but I guess I don't have to since you all should know what a wonderful machine it is.

I have added Samson Long Slashers and a Power Commander III, Sport Windshield, and some chrome pieces. I can't wait to get involved into discussions about the bike. I am a police officer by trade and I don't have a olt of mechanical skills so I am sure I will need the forum to discuss mechanical issues.

By the way...I paid $15,000 for the bike new of the showroom floor from Jack's Harley in Effingham, IL. My thanks to that wonderful dealership for being very good to me as a first time customer. I searched high and low for this bike at a good price. I think I got right!

The stock seat was a little uncomfortable. The wife took a short ride and made it only a few miles. The next day she instructed me to get a touring seat. So I drove to Kirkwood, MO to Doc's Harley and bought a seat and back rest. What a difference! Now the wife is much happier. I bought the bike about a month ago and now I have about 1130 miles so I hav'nt been on it for a long ride in a while. But I have my room reservations for Sturgis and have 9 days planned for that trip. 3 day ride up, 3 days of fun, and 3 days of ride home. Can't wait.
