I'm not sure what a "stock vrod slash headlight" is but all VRSC models use three wires for the headlights:

White wire to HI beam
Yellow wire to LO beam
Black wire to ground​

Some models have a separate H11 low beam and H9 high beam (e.g., VRSCA and VRSCF). This could be the headlight you're talking about. The models with this headlight have a yellow and black wire in one connector for the H11 bulb and a white and black wire in another connector for the H9 bulb.

The other models have a three place connector that plugs in to a combination HI/LO H4 bulb.
