HD-45316 crankshaft assembly retainer ​

Does anyone have this tool leftover from an engine build you don't need anymore ? Apparently MOCO discontinued it to vindictively stick it to the Revo motor. You need these temporary main caps to hold the crankshaft down while torquing the connecting rods.

I'm obviously a newbie to VR engine building. Could you please elaborate ? How did you keep the crankshaft main journals seated while torquing the rods? I thought the crank wants to pop out.
