So I got a HD day bag that cMe with my bike, but wasn't installed. There's no directions or anything, how the heck do I mount it? I've looked all over online.

Do you have a picture of the bag in question?
Tie the strap on quick release to the luggage rack .

Well it worked, two straps down and back up on the back side and two on the front side. Thw part that took some figuring out was that there is a large velcro strap that goes around the rear passenger back rest. you have to make that tight and then slide it down between the passenger seat and the main seat to the point it's barely visible. The velcro strap if left loose will create alot of movement.

Glad you figured it out

I've also thrown similar bag I have on the passenger seat and a tailbag on the luggage rack. Gives me a nice backrest for the longer rides.
You should post some pictures of your bike with this bag on it. I’ve been looking at this same bag and wasn’t sure how it was going to look on there.

Here are a few pics I dug up from before I had the OEM saddlebags and just had a set of throw overs.

I have a set of generic 'D' rings on the rear most bolts under the passenger seat. The 'D' rings just stickout far enough to provide a tiedown. I usually run the tail bag on the luggage rack and the roll bag on the backseat.

Well now I’m going to have to get both the round day bag and that tail bag. They look good together and they don’t look bad on the bike either.

I just bought the same bag for going back and forth to work. My local patch sew shop will sew on an elastic pocket the same size as the sissy bar. Something to cons for quick installation and removal.
