TaxmanHog Noel - that's for regenerative braking when you hit the front brake the forks kick back so the front tire spins the generator in the middle of the battery pack ! :angeldev:

Tassie Tony hey it's a step in the right direction money wise, is that Aussie Dollars ? Whats the U.S. price any idea ? Love the cooling fins look on the photo on your post. Looks like a huge single cylinder British or Euro bike that should be called " The Slavic " The other one with the guy on it looks like the engine might be self conscious and it's changing clothes and someone put up a 3 sided shield around it so it wouldn't be embarrassed - Seriously. Silly lookin'.

Interesting it's a race looking bike can't imagine it would have much range at 100 Mph + racing action - just a poser or an actual electric M/C racing series legal bike ? Any electronic restrictions ?

Sorry still way too much ugly to accept for dubious performance advantages, at least for me. But still a great alternative to a 30K Livewire. Like I've said before make the battery smaller, put a high rpm small multi cylinder engine on there to keep the battery charged and drive the bike with the electric motor - For me that's success, better looks, an actual engine to make noise, high torque electric drive and endless range using existing gas stations. Don't know what to tell ya, Hybrid or nothing for me, at least for now. :blahblah: :D

US$15600+ freight.
I can see these things becoming almost a kit form proposition where you place your online order and tick which motor, battery, charger, panels, colour etc you want.Infinitly customisable delivered to your door on a pallet with an instruction sheet.
If they can scale up production prices should drop heaps you would think. No dealerships sucking the life out of everything.Trade deals with every nation that builds the parts.Close proximity to massive Asian markets.Got a lot going for it in the overall sense.
I agree they need to sack the stylist, but that's all it is nothing insurmountable.

Getting closer to an affordable Electric M/C reality - maybe.

Now Tassie as a H-D Troll for the LiveWire ( or did you collect your final H-D check, so you're out ?) you gotta watch promoting other Electric M/C's. Big trouble with the MoCo. Anyway yea, " I can see these things becoming almost a kit form proposition where you place your online order and tick which motor, battery, charger, panels, colour etc you want. Infinitely customizable delivered to your door on a pallet with an instruction sheet." OH YEA, I can see that easy. Back in the 70's Heath Kit offered a " Boonie Bike" with the big back turf tire 5 Hp B&S Engine 2 Speed tranny kit- they shipped it to ya, you put the whole thing together, using the instructions, your oil, grease, etc. I bought a Puma minibike same way put my 5 hp B&S with a torque converter engine in it. Us old guys would buy 'em and put 'em together for fun, real young guys might need a Saturday support group where seriously special tools like Crescent wrenches, 3/8's drive socket sets, rubber dead blow hammers, tubs of grease, extension cords, floor jacks, WD 40 etc. are all provided to the group with hands on instructions for their individual success. Seriously though, yea at that price point kits would work as long as the warranty is upheld - that's the key, make it affordable - and FUN ! :blahblah: :D

What Will Become Of Motorcycling?

I went to Portland, Oregon, for the introduction of Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire premium electric motorcycle. I heard its hoped-for buyer described in terms that to me outlined a Clinton voter: urban, upscale, educated, concerned for the environment, valuing quality and style. Not a motorcyclist.

Yet when I see Harley’s established clientele—older men, many white-haired, conservative, saying, “I carry my own water”—I see dedicated, often lifetime motorcyclists, many of whom switch to three-wheelers as their strength diminishes in old age, and I am tempted to think, “These folks are probably not Clinton voters.”......................

Big picture (none of that what sells advertising crap).

I'm still sticking to my theory that the upcoming monetary reset will put fossil powered vehicles and the fuel they burn into the luxury class and anything simple with few parts you can power for free from the sun will be the budget end and only wise choice alternative.
If you look at it that way all the argument over climate change, aging demographics, poor boardroom decisions, range anxiety, man bunning of cavemen etc goes out the window.
Think about it, it's already started hyperinflation is coming because of trying to prop up the old ways of doing business and the banks who profit from it.Every second country are rioting over inequality already it's our turn next.Wheelbarrows full of cash to buy a coffee, stabbings for chicken sandwich's comes to mind as the pack gets hungry. Those that survive will do so because they have prepared with solar arrays, hen houses, water tanks and a Livewire.

Oil industry is a scam about to be exposed along with it's disciples. When the herd turns HD will have a waiting list.

True Tassie, but did you ever think which countries are currently rioting ? It's CHINA, Venezuela, Russia, et al - citizens that have given up or never before had their freedoms. Here in the U.S. we all have that freedom, we have oil & gas, and we only fight the deep state, because they are not yet running the front state. When the shit hits the fan all lesser countries will be in deeper problems, but not the US - for us it will be later on and a friggin' overpriced 30K Livewire, solar arrays that will be stolen and not efficient due to continuous overcast and water tanks that will be contaminated with your hens also stolen will not help anyone. You're pushing a B/S future reality again, but it's nice to see you're still getting paid by H-D. H-D won't be building anything if and after the U.S. collapses, no one will have top dog $ to buy their luxury cruiser M/C's. You're smoking crack, again, still. You can't eliminate the oil industry no matter how big a scam you think it is until you have something to replace all of it with. Get to work on that.

If you call a stock market that is controlled by the fed reserve (and is currently draining yours and mine 401k's and superannuation nest eggs for the benefit of the ceo's christmas bonus cheques) freedom your not paying attention.
Socialist /communist in their actions for the mainstream, free market for the 1%.Haven't you noticed the homeless cities springing up?The ponzi scheme that is the dollar is crumbling and it's dragging down the rest of the planet with it.It was never fixed in 2008 and it's beyond repair now.You don't eliminate debt with more debt without hyperinflation so it's going to be every man for himself at the end game.
We're on borrowed time, one black swan event away from an overnight meltdown and you won't have time to run out and find solar panels or groceries if it happens. There will be no electricity to pump fuel there will be no credit cards because there will be no banks.Good for you if you think its b/s reality, there will be plenty willing to live off your remains when your gone.
You talk like you have a say in whats going on when your a slave for the 1% ers but don't realise it or don't want to admit it.The fact that you've made a living from jets that burn the foul stinking crap doesn't go unnoticed either. The oil industry is going to eliminate itself by the dominance it has over everything. It is by far the biggest chunk of the market and the perverse propping up of it instead of allowing true value to emerge will be it's undoing.
The masses are so brainwashed and lazy they haven't got a clue whats going on or whats coming and daily swallow the lies fed to them without question. When they get told the truth lock the doors and load up.
You think a Livewire is expensive you aint seen nothing yet. It's going to seem like a gift in a few short years, if we get that far without an almighty dump.
No need or time to get to work on an alternative we already have it though you seem oblivious to it.This is as good as it gets, it's all downhill from here buddy, make the most of whats available and do your best with it,it's going to be a bumpy ride but can be smoothed somewhat if you can accept change.

Unless you enjoy internet fighting, I'd end this discussion. Tassie has his economic world vision and it will never coincide with yours. He feels as if the DOW Jones Ind. has been crumbling, even though it's value has increased by 10,000 points in the past 3 years. He feels as if the US dollar is crumbling, even though it's value has remained a constant. He feels as though big businesses are public enemy #1, even though Apple, GM, Ford, etc. have each invested over $1 billion into the US economy by erecting new factories in the US, in which to produce new products and add 1,000's of US jobs. Simply allow him to live in his "Fantasy Land" and move along. It will go nowhere. No two people will share their personal thoughts verbatim. :)

I'd like this tread to remain open for reasonable discussion by level headed folks.

Tassie has been in lockdown before, and could be headed that way again if the MOD's think it warranted.

Fine by me I'll start another thread that picks up where this one has drifted off to.It's was a dead thread ages ago I was trying to keep it going hoping there would be more unbiased opinion about but not be so have it your way.

More Pipe Dreams !

Unbiased opinion that's some funny language, Tassie - you mean folks that'll buy your End of the Financial World as we know it & the Electric M/C will save the environment garbage and carry water for your distorted view of reality ?

"Simply allow him to live in his "Fantasy Land" and move along. It will go nowhere. No two people will share their personal thoughts verbatim."

CVO1 that's the problem - I really wish that Tassie would just fall back and live in his Fantasy Land - he clearly does not represent the majority of 1130cc.com regulars. If he doesn't get a check from H-D for promoting the Live Wire he damn well should. I've tried talking him back from this cliff of insanity but if nothing else he sure doesn't understand an alternate view of reality from his - and he keeps popping up here like a nasty zit on your A$$ you keep trying to pop but it just keeps coming back. He says he's from down under so how's he got a 401K " that's being drained ? " Absolute B/S.

Tassie said " The fact that you've made a living from jets that burn the foul stinking crap doesn't go unnoticed either. The oil industry is going to eliminate itself by the dominance it has over everything. It is by far the biggest chunk of the market and the perverse propping up of it instead of allowing true value to emerge will be it's undoing." What an idiot. And he's promoting charging Electric Vehicles with OIL, COAL, Nat Gas, Nuclear which currently is electric generation mainstream. Tassie try to keep tens of thousands of jets in the air everyday with you, your friends, your family and hundreds of thousands of people doing business at 38K feet and 500+ Mph using Solar Power. Go do it Dude ! I'm not saying there isn't room for improvement, there is and we're constantly improving everything every day. But you're constantly ignoring what is required to run a planet of 7 BILLION + people everyday - you believe the myth that CO2 is to blame and humans can control the climate and that's why I'm just friggin' done trying to reason with you. Every time you start a new thread here with your B/S it should be TERMINATED. Tassie Just go to " Electric M/C Futures.com " and have a happy life. A much better fit for you, and US. :blahblah: :D

Here's today's reality. Thanksgiving 2019 at the San Luis Obispo, Ca., Supercharger Station. 15+ Teslas waiting to recharge at 4:45pm Thanksgiving Day.

0-60 in half a second, and then four hours of waiting in line to recharge.

Should have bought a Dodge.

Good Times ! Gather 'round the Tesla "Recharge it" Public Thanksgiving !

H-D Heathen that's such a nice Thanksgiving Day Tesla family video - so quiet, peaceful -you can almost hear all the Liberal Californian Tesla owners chatting amongst themselves in the parking lot about their superior environmental stewardship and intelligence, and how rude those nasty gasoline burning, Walmart shopping, uneducated Dodge drivers are - the only way the video could be better is if a 797 Hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye was filming it while it drifted thru the parking lot with both back tires in full rubber immolation mode and the smoke cloud gently drifts over to and into all the Teslas as they suck on their electronic tit cords - forcing the superior Humans out for fresh air as their Dodge driver convictions are confirmed ! - ( Great Dodge commercial !? ) OK, yea, i'm kinda mean - there could be a couple Conservatives in the Tesla recharge family crowd ( but they wouldn't be bragging about their intellectual & environmental superiority, and would probably really appreciate the Hellcat burnout ! ). :blahblah: :D

Rush's " Red Barchetta " song - getting closer to reality ? !

Anyway I'm sure Graphene and other energy storage methods will definitely get better, lighter, more efficient, less expensive and eventually totally change the way we Humans power our ground transportation. But at least for me ( I'm a Gear Head not a Motor Head ) engines are at least half of what draws me to my motorcycle. Pistons, Camshafts, Gears, Clutches - the sounds, vibrations and smells that internal combustion engines create. Without all that, to me it's just a quiet, soulless little electronic appliance that has little emotional draw. That's why I Love my Revolution Engine powered V Rod - and it screams like a Lion from 3000 to 8750 Rpm - try getting that outta an electric bike motor - Enjoy them now guys before internal combustion M/C's are outlawed & relegated to History - :banghead: :blahblah: :D
