Harbor Freight Motorcycle Jack - Check The Welds!!

Picked up the HF motorcycle jack, when I lowered it down to the safety catches they snapped off. Looking closer, the three on the one side were just spot welded on, while the other side had a bead of weld all the way around the stop.

So if you decide to buy one of these, inspect the safety stop welds before leaving the store.

I'm going to pick up a different one now.

Here is what the broken one's look like.

Did a quick check on mine and the stops are welded all the way across the front and one side of the stops.

Yours looks like temp weld that never had the final welding completed.

Coffee Break model!! "Limited Edition":D:D
Harbor Freight lifts are cheaply made so your issue does not surprise me. There is a reason they can sell them for less than others. IMHO

I prefer Pit Bull lifts. Very well made.
