Hello everyone.

I have an '03 VRSCA and I will be needing to have the valve lash check service done pretty soon, and possibly and adjustment. If anyone here in South Florida has gotten this service done correctly with no issues, I'd like to know where. It doesn't matter to me if it is not a dealer as long as it is done right, and the mechanic knows what he is doing and has done it before on the VROD. I have come across many "Harley Specialists" that only work on Harley's, and when I tell them my bike is a VROD they are still willing to take my money and do the job, but with a lot of skepticism and head scratching; they literally say, "we usually don't work on those bikes."

I'd like to eventually do it myself, but I'd like the first one to be done by a professional and hopefully I can watch and learn. Also, after watching some tutorial on YouTube, I see that there are a few HD, VROD specific tools that are needed, and you can't even walk into the dealer to buy them anymore ("not good Harley"). If anyone has done this service on their own without those HD tools, please post a list of all of the tools you used and where you bought them.

Appreciate it, thanks.

Good luck finding a dealer that will sell you HD tools, I've only found one and they got tired of HD's bullsh!t and dropped them.... They'll sell you the $150 service manual though ........ Kent-Moore made a lot of their tools, someone posted the info one this site ....... is good to be skeptical about the "specialists", there's some Floridians on here that might be able to point you in the right direction.....
