What does "Topless" entail?

My TAB's are coming with a fueler and KN air filter...

Is it as simple as it sounds, just put the KN filter on, and leave the top of the airbox cover off?

Took the painted airbox cover off last night, getting ready for installing the KN filter tonight.

Okay, took off the top airbox cover, and see how the filter is bolted down with another smaller square cover.

But the top cover has some sort of wire connector to it... what do you do with it? Just unplug it and forget it?

What's that plug for? Some kind of O2 sensor?

Thats the air temperature sensor. You definitely need that. Some people have just removed it from the top airbox cover and left if hanging inside box. You can also drill a hole in the cover that fastens to the air-filter and mount it into that cover. 6 people do it one way, half a dozen the other. Your choice. Just make sure that you don't turn on the bike with the sensor unplugged from the cable. You'll throw error codes. If you choose to mount it to the cover, you can pick up the necessary gromit for about $1 at the dealer.
