It's been 3 weeks now since I received the letter about the fuel module flange. The day after I received, I called the dealer and was put on a "list" that they said they would call when parts arrive. Has anybody had thier bike fixed on this yet ??

I now have a oil leak from my rear head gasket and am taking the bike in for that repair. They said hopefully that parts would come in while they have it.

I took mine for it 3 weeks ago.
I learned from this forum about it before my HD dealer.
They flashed my ECM telling me it was the SE filter making her lean and gave it back to me with the same symptoms. They wanted $180 FOR THE DOWNLOAD. I did not pay, of course. Since then the Race Tuner, the 28t pulley, new drag bars, and chain cover have arrived. I do not have a bike to play with because it is at the stealer waiting on the %$&#!^g pump.

eduarprmd my understanding is that they can fix the flange with a repair until they get parts. The temp fix is fairly simple and quick to do and I would think that HD would pay the bill for the temp fix.

This dealer is the only authorized HD on the island. I will discuss the temp fix with them. It almost makes me wish for my warranty to expire. Maybe if I pay to have it fixed off warranty I will have a motorcycle to play with. Had read about the easy fix somewhere but still trusted them to be quick. Maybe they are keeping it so the warranty WILL expire.
Then you may see the quickest install and removal of Rizoma bars ever.

I took my bike in Saturday for the head gasket repair and still no parts in stock. The dealer says he has received no parts for anyone yet. The service manager told me they got a letter from HD one day before we got our letters. I asked him if I called HD would it do any good to complain ?? YES

I think that every one of us that has the letter should start calling HD to complain. I cannot understand why HD would notify owners about this problem and not have parts available. If we start bitching maybe it would speed things up.

If any of you know. I now have to take it out of the dealer and do the baseline dyno before I install anything else. If the Race Tuner is installed somewhere besides the dealer, will this void the warranty? Do you think I should have installed by the dealer? I bought it from them so if they %$&#!^ it up they have to fix it, right?

eduarprmd these seem to be a dealer by dealer issue. My dealer told me a pcr III or just about any other mods were ok but a race tuner would void the warranty while other dealers I called said it would not void the warranty. I really don't think that there is anything in black and white and from years of dealing with auto warranty in a court of law it usually would have to be proven that it was the part you changed that caused the failure directly before they would be off the hook for the repairs.

The dealer I work for had to go to court for an exploded LS1 engine that had NOS and Headers with all the O2 sensors disabled and drag slicks on the car with drop out exhaust. The judge ruled that GM was liable for the engine and the court cost. The burden of proof that the mods caused the damage fell on GM and the court felt they did not prove their case. So I take all there claims of voiding my warranty like a grain of salt.

MAX,speaking of o2's on a LS1...isnt here a fuse i can take out...and put back in, to get the SERVICE eng soon light to turn off.Pretty sure they are fried after header and aftermarket cat install about a year ago.light was intermittent at first,but has been on now four months.not a big deal,have gotten used to it.

I guess I will try them again for the RT.
I know they have done the installation before without complaint from the customer. Bike runs great.

I would just prefer a person to help me tune it. If I cannot get anyone I guess I will be discussing the results as I go here in the forum for some intelligent feedback from any of you guys willing to help out. Will learn it on my own if I have to.

Will post a thread about dynos, there are several on the market, would make for an interesting discussion. For what they charge, I guess some here, in retrospect, would have been better off having one on the backyard. KAZ comes to mind.:notworthy

urprey the PCM on everything made after 96 is obd II complient and codes are stored in the PCM even if power goes down to the battery. The only way to clear the codes is with a tech II or any other form of scan tool. If the light is on all the time the odds are that you have a hard failure. The nice thing about obd II is that the car won't go into limp in mode when the light comes on as older models did. It simply disables the failed system and runs with the best data it can. Usually unless it is something like a P0300 or P1811 you won't even know there is a problem if the light were not on. You might want to get the codes read if your under 80k miles as we see tons of cat low effiecency codes on those things and the cats are covered 8/80 under warranty.

Contacted Harley customer service this am (414-343-4056). Waited on hold for 8 minutes and as the line started ringing, I got hung up on. Called right back and got thru immediately. Spoke with Shawn, he informed me that the parts are on backorder but they are shipping 500 per week around the country to dealers. I told him my bike would be down in the shop for about 2 weeks for the headgasket repair and would like to make sure that the dealer gets parts to fix while it is down. He basically told me no guarantee on parts to my particular dealer.

Just wanted to let everybody know what MoCo said.
