Could you drill that location hole on opposite side as well? Not too deep. If you don't have suitable drill at home it should be relatively easy task for the local machine shop. That connector might be little on way but small angle won't harm there.

Especially when going to different type injectors there is almost every time some hassle with the fixings. I have bent several fixing clips by my own. Most of them does not have that rotation preventing clip at all. Injectors are in good grip and stays in place. Connectors keep them in right direction. Axial play is more critical so they do not leak if injector length thus o-ring distance is shorter. Small securing bushing might be good against heads. I do not trust fixing clip completely there. This is bit critical thing when going to other type injectors. Leaking can be dangerous.

Omg. Hopefully there were no person injuries!

If you do not want to modify existing injectors I do not see other possibility than find ones where locating hole is in correct side. Possibly you do not want to modify that clip as well.

Unfortunately I cannot help with the better place to find injectors quickly.

They are probably not original injectors then. That is another reason to stick with oem quality (and expensive) injectors to avoid nasty running problems. Copy injectors can be trash. I have bought four cheap injectors and they were measured and all had to throw to bin. Lesson was learned.

So after trying a couple more orders (another 2 pack and 2 single packs) and them all coming with the hole on the opposite side, I ended up taking a tiny drill bit to make a tiny "starter hole" and then a bit the same size as the original hole and drilled out just enough to give the prong something to hold onto. I installed them and she started right up! I was being very cautious with modifying them. I think I could have safely drilled deeper but didn't want to go more than I had to.
Strange. I searched my shelf and found one pair originals and there were locating holes on connector side as well. Tried to rotate to them other side but they were firm.

(y) Glad that you find easy solution. Like many said that locator tab is useless it is still elegant and original way to fix the problem. Hope that those injectors appears to be fine in running too.
