I own a 2003 VRSCA and I recently removed the fuel module to change the filters. The fuel gauge sending unit strip had some corrosion so I used scotchbrite to remove it. Now it doesn’t work. Any ideas on how to fix it or where to get a replacement? It seems it is an obsolete part and I have only found a complete module on eBay and they want $600 for it.

This thread shows a thorough disassembly of the fuel gauge resistive strip and explains how to improve the electrical contacts on the float assembly. It's possible by following these steps you can fix your device.
