Maybe I was lucky but my fuel gauge use to work fine until I installed a PC-V, VMOD-II and a K&N filter. Since, when my gauge shows empty, I still have about 1/4 of a tank to go. Could the new map affect the reading or is it something else??

Try resetting it. Turn the key to accessory, let it go through it's initialization cycle then back to Off - then On/RUN - wait for fuel gauge to register and start...

I always go there first.

Disconnect the PC and see if it works.
