Complete your braided hose install since HD shamelessly left a clamp cover out of the package...

Edit by Max: I killed the link because even on my T1 line it was painfully slow. There are also many members here now that are not members of that site and that means they would need to register to see the image.

Thanks Max...

Interesteing... That link was to my classified thread on the V-twin forum... I must have screwed up the crosslink. Anywho...

Here's the deal,
I ordered the decorative clamp (PN 26796-01) from my local dealer, and they gave me 4 total clamps! I argued with the guy at the parts counter that I was only supposed to be receiving one clamp cover to the tune of about $28. They insisted I take all 4... No arguments here. I only need 1 clamp cover. I'll now share the wealth.

I have three extra's I'd sell for $20 delivered. These sell for $26 per plus shipping from Chicago Harley.

kennedy it is not the link that is bad it is the VTF that is having troubles. DP is running with thirty times the data we have with 1/2 the server we have. Keep in mind anytime you post a link into a forum that a person must be a member of the forum 90% of the time to view the item.

For me the VTF has been a mess since the banner adds were put up. With me using Linux most of the time the banner adds show up all over the page, sometimes even in the middle of a sentence in the forum threads. Money seems to be the issue for them to resolve there problems.

Hmmm...

Max, I definately appreciate the nature of this forum being solely dedicated to the V-rod. Kinda like my other two haunts, www.xterraownersclub.com and www.tdiclub.com, when you apply the entire groups input into one sole product, you really build a wealth of information. I wish more users around here would photodocument the more difficult mods, as to create a mod archive to assist the new comers. I know I'll be documenting what I do. It's a pleasure to be a member here, sharing my experiences.

The T1 and Linux server, are those hosted from yuor work environment? or your basement? What pays the T1 and server admin bill?

If you still have one left could you save it for me? Thanks, I checked and I don't have one either at the top of the second hose. So put me down for it, if you still have one.

Thanks,

Dave

Cool great thanks; I'll have to wait to pay pal you until I get home. But I'll do it tonight. Was it hard to install, you didn't have to remove the hose right?

Thanks,

Dave

Kennedy the T1 line is at work I have terrible comcast service at home. Linux is my OS of choice. The server that this site sits on is my own personal server and sits at a cohost location in Dallas and is hooked to an array of T3 lines. The bill for this site comes mostly from my pocket with a lot of support from a few of the members.

That is why I am well aware of DP's situation and have a very good idea what the cost of his site is. Keep in mind this is a labor of love for me. I really enjoy the site and enjoy the challenge of building the server, setting up all the software and writing a few of my own scripts with it. I think the V-Rod is the future of Harley Davidson and as time goes by this will become a powerhouse of information as long as the members share the knowledge as they do now.

Kennedy:

Love the look of your Porsche "coat of arms" emblems!!!

Where did you get them? Can you tell us about the mod... how did you attach?

That is one item that I would like to add to my engine to promote the co-development effort. I have the 100 year emblem in the block, and would probably try to do a single coat of arms in complimentary way if possible...

Can you give us some of your insights?

It's called a "Crest" or "Cloisonné". The easiest and cheapest way to get one is to buy the $10 key ring at your local Porsche dealer, take the Crest off and use double sided exterior foam tape as a backing.

I put one in the center of the sprocket cover right between Harley and Davidson ;)

Clamp shipping...

Can't say that I originally had the idea... I stole that directly from Darrell H. Very cool IMO.

Those that bought, your clamp cover is shipping today USPS First Class.
