I have an 03 that has its front brake "swoosh". Its noticable at low speeds. Whne I lightly pull the brake lever it stops. One guy said thats the way it is but I cant remember hearing them on another bike. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have had it on other bikes. From what I have read if you upgrade to Lyndall pads the problem goes away.

That swoosh is a characteristic of the bike. Mine has been doing it since day one. I heard that Lyndall pads help.

Had the same problem with my '03....both front and rear. It was most noticeable when just coasting at idle. Others on the Forum directed me to Lyndall brake pads, and I can say they were 100% correct. Immediately upon installation of thje Lyndall pads, the problem went away. They work as advertised and completely solve the "swooshies". Installation is simple, too...just follow along in the Service Manual.

Good thread, first time I've heard of a solution.
I think I'll pick some up too.
The swoosh has been driving me crazy since I purchased my '03 last month.
In fact, I think its the only complaint I have!
