I have a destroyer and it seems the forward and backward movement in gear is excessive. The bike can role 6-8 inches in either direction. I notice on my 03 vrod, the bike doesn't barely move an inch or two.
Any suggestions?

if the clutch was worn and "slipping", wouldn't that allow the bike to move a bit further when in gear?

The transmission gears have been milled out and every other dog has been removed so it will shift better??? You will have twice the backlash in a Destroyer than a V-Rod.

Thanks for the info. that makes perfect sense. I have checked the drive sprocket, the rear sprocket, the clutch, last thing was to check the rivets on the basket. I am glad to hear it is normal movement. The bike has been running good also. Having a lot of fun.
Thanks again,
Allen
