I thought I would share mine...

I have had this on my bike for 1 year.
I have found that this gives the long haul rides alot more comfort.
I have made a full base plate to take the weight into the frame.
The back pad just pulls off and slides right on. No attachments needed to keep it from coming off. (stayed on doing 135mph)
I have found that the bigger pads hit the upper back to much on long hauls.(but still adds the comfort to the back)
I have decided to go with the smaller pad to hit the lower back better and it even looks better.

I am trying to have these made now...Hard finding some one to make one off parts.

All comments welcomed good or bad. sugestions welcomed too.

Disclaimer: pat. pend.

Thanks in advance
Rod

a very good idea :thumb:

I agree longer trips something behind you makes it so much better, I've always had one of them round bags with the backrest on it that I strap down behind me and that helps a bunch.

depending on how much the cost is, when you get these up and going I'd be willing to buy one to try it out.

Damn Rod. It's about time you spilled them beans.

The setup I got to see first hand when we put that Rick's Tank on his bike.

The fit and finish is very nice. It is a well thought out design, and easy to put on and off.

If I didn't ride in the praying dog position, it would be a welcome addition to my bike.

I can't give up my drag bars......

been a busy weekend!!

Thank you RJ for responding on the seat question.

Thank you for all your comments

Right now the design is setup for the 02 -04 v-rod...I think they widen the fender in 05. The concept will still apply for the newer years. I will work on the baseplate for the 05's and up when I have this one done.

Stay tuned for furture updates.

I have to work on getting the new bar done this week... plus I have another meeting with a Fab shop again.

Thanks
Rod

I was trying to say the pillion that goes with the sundowner seat. :)

When I'm on the road using borrowed computers I don't log in for security reasons. When I read the board that way the pictures don't open in the post. (Clicking on them individually they open)

With a very slow download I only looked at the first 2 which the pillion was not shown. I thought that it may have been, removed/modified/not used, to make the backrest mounting work out.

Now at home I see the rest of the pictures (& the last picture shows the pillion) it clears everything nicely. Good stuff!
