Hi Everyone
What a great forum. I'm looking for some advice. I just bought an 04 Lava Red Vrod. This is my first bike. I rode when I was in my 20's and now I'm 55. I feel in love with the Vrods from the first pictures I saw in 2002. Even though I have virtually no riding experience I just had to do it.

I registered for a 2 weekend bike safety course for new riders to get me started safely. Since I've never ridden a Vrod, what should I expect. Last summer I rode my brother inlaws Valkeri, it was pretty neat to find out that I can still ride.

Thanks

John

Welcome John :welcome:

The rider safety class will be good for you!
Break it in slowly and enjoy your new Bike.
The V-Rod is very well balanced so you shouldn't get any surprises.

Hi, Hemi and welcome!!

I just don't think you're going to have any problems riding the v-rod at all. You'll be amazed at how it reads your mind.

Have a great time in the motorcycle safety course and post some pics of your new bike, please! Can't wait to see the lava red!

:welcome: The V-Rod is also my first bike and the first time I ever rode a bike on a street was the V-Rod. Very easy and balanced for me. Before that I took the safety class helped me allot probably would have killed myself without taking it first.
Great to hear from you. I'm looking forward to the class and thanks for information, its good to know that others have gone down this path with the Vrod as their first bike.

Hemi,

I two fell in love with the bike after I saw the show on Discovery Channel back in 02. As well took the two week course, it was a great experience and a real condident builder. The bike is amazing gentle but powerful.

This is great, it helps to hear from other people that are experiencing this as well. I'm so excited about my Vrod and I know that the experience will only get better. My nick of Hemi comes from working for Chrysler for 31 years in technical training and having a passion for the 426 Hemi. I just sold my 68 Hemi Runner and I currently have a 65 Dodge Coronet that is going to become Hemi powered. I also crewed on 68 SS/A Hemi Cuda. The new 5.7 Hemi is pretty neat and trust me will only get bigger and more powerful in the future. This is a fantastic forum and I appreciate all of the positive feedback on my new bike.

Hemi,
Yes I'm one of the Forum Hard Core Racer Types!Way more time on the Dy no and Track then on the Street! :helpme: I'm running a Bunch of Nitrous"about 190rwhp" so it's been Very Hard on Parts. It's best pass was [email protected] on the Small 150 rwhp system in Bad 5000ft.AIR! :banghead: Have not made a Clean Full pass on the Big System. My incremental times say 9.30-40's but with the New Motor I'm going for the 8's! :diablo:
