The cylinder heads are made of nice aluminium, so I thought I'd give it a try and polish the nasty grey stuff off.
It's not ready but I like the result so far, it fits nicely to the anodized airbox cover and gives the engine a "hand made" stamp

Think I would have sandblasted it, then polished it out since you already have it off the bike.

Try chemical removal of coatings, it's much easier. Stripper in a can works damn good.

Thanks for the advice, good idea.But now that I've started polishing, it is too late to try that.
