Exhaust question

I have self modded exhaust and like the way they sound. Went to the neighbors house he has a Fatboy with screaming eagle exhaust and the baffles are removable. Do the v-rod screaming eagle 16 ga double barrels have removable baffles. If so are they louder than the stocks after being modded. Thanks Chad :stilpoke: :stilpoke:

The 16 G pipes do have removable baffles. Steve at V-Mod also modifies them, so if you got them, you could still ride on your self modded ones. From what I understand, the original V-Mods are the loudest of the 3. If all you want is noise, TBag is selling his Force shorties in the classifieds section. You will lose power though. Just try to remember how quiet your friends pipes are when you are WAAAAY out in front of him :)

  Ya I don't like the way the force pipes sound or look my wife says they are loud enough but always open. don't want to lose power still need to do the air filter and chip. Really don't think I lost much power when I modded my exhaust but will find out when I do the filter and stealer reprogram or pcIIIr

I've made 121hp and 117hp on different dynos with force pipes.
From what I have seen, the modded stock pipes will show a power INCREASE, so you should be good. search for the thread on modding your own... there are pics of how it has been commonly done. I might try doing mine, but I just got some D&D slip ons, and they do sound nice! Good luck to you
no kidding Okie? That is the first I have heard of a power increase... hats off to your tuner! what other mods are you running?

Check "Force tuning" in the high performance forum.

What he really means is, first pop the seat up, remove the air cover....see the big wheel?...put a bigger hamster in it
Let me clear something up about the Force pipes. YOU DO NOT LOSE POWER! You will gain approximately 5hp from stock with a PC3r. Dont believe me you can check out the Dyno at V-MOD.com. As a matter of fact the Dyno from V-MOD.com is WITHOUT a PC3r. So you may gain an extra pony or 2 using a PC3r. With a custom Tune or Race tuner you can get more ponies as OKIE has done. The only pipes I know of that lose power over stock are the Sampsons and Rhineharts.
soooooo, I could have run it without mufflers? just the little 2-1 chamber? that is pretty much what the force pipes are, right? I dont thing it would look good, and I would be deaf in about 30 minutes, but it sure did sound nice!
Didnt mean to bash your pipes guys. You know how rumors go, you just spread what you have heard. Glad to know you have had good results.

You probably would get the same performance without mufflers but dont know anyone that has done it. It would look like crap anyway.

Thats what this forum is all about. FACTS! Dont believe everything you hear until you check with the crew here at V-RODFORUMS.com..... :slap: :stilpoke:

Ok guys, here goes. I am looking to mod my exhaust, and have been looking at the “Screamin' Eagle Slip-Fit Mufflers (Stock look alike). In the same breath I am also considering removing the inner baffle of my stock pipes, which of course is less expensive. My question is; if I mod the stock pipes as described will it be too loud? Consider that I leave for work between 5:00 & 5:30 am, and would hate to disturb my neighbors, or be annoyed or annoying during long trips. Also would I need to remap or recalibrate for any of these mods? :vrod:
