My blinker lights, high beam indicator, and security light started flashing on my speedo gauge the other day. Sometimes only the turn signal lights flash, sometimes all the lights on my gauge flash, and sometimes all of them just stay on for a while. I took my airbox cover, side covers, and seat off the other day but did not see any cut wires or loose connections. It is not speed related, it just seems to happen intermittently. The blinkers and high beams still work fine, it's just the indicator lights in my gauge flash on and off. Has anyone had a similar problem? I'd like to see if I can fix it myself before taking it to the dealer. Any help is appreciated.

If your lights on the bike are working O.K. and the only place you see the problem is in your cluster, then I would open up your cluster and see if you have anything loose in there. That would be the first place I would look.

Have fun getting into the cluster. You will need a Security Torx Plus (5 point star). Not easy to find.

Warranty work!

Have you relocated the front blinkers? If so it sounds as though you have a loose connection at the large main plug at just before the speedo housing.

you can find a full set of security screw bits at many hardware stores like Ace and Westlake or what ever line is in your area pretty inexpensivly.

ScreemingScott, have you actually seen the 5-point tamper-proof ones there? That's what he'll need.
