If you have a DX that was made in the past few months, keep a close eye out on the starter system. I just got my DX a week ago and today the starter failed to disengage. Didn't know that until I rode it home from where I started it. It melted the neg battery post off the battery before I could disconnect it. I suspect the started is cooked and it remains to be seen were the teeth went.
The early warning sign seems to be that the yellow and red engine lights that usually go off after a few seconds will stay lit on the speedo. I read posts from other DX owners on this site that this has happened to within the past couple weeks. My dealer was not aware of this issue. I suspect Harley has gotten a new supplier for 07 solenoids or they were changed for the worse somehow. It appears to affect the 07s only.
