Does the life of the oil really matter?

I don't ride much may be 500-1000 miles per year i got 11k miles onit now. Should i change oil every year? I think the last time i changed oil was 2 years back :)

Mostly hinges on the moisture content in the oil that could cause acids and corrosion. If you live in hot climates all year I wouldn't worry about it but climates where it can get cool like fall and spring, with shorter rides that don't burn off the condensation, I'd change it more often. I try and have a fresh change when parking it for the winter months.

Oil breaks down after time. Which is why you’ll see xxxx amount of miles or so many months. You should always change your oil atleast yearly.
