i cannot figure out how to push these things in, I bought the bike like this, these are the stock tail lights on my 2008 night rod special
the light socket needs to be pushed to fit into the housing of it in order to put on the cap, but no matter what I try, its not going back in.

thanks in advance

Feed wires into mount hole slot, check slot in black housing that lens snaps into as well to be sure it's not damaged blocking the edge of the lens from popping in. Be sure drain/vent slot at bottom keys in & lines up properly with lamp holder and pressure pop it in place using two hands - it outta go. I got a 1.5" strip of Gorilla tape on the gap between lens and housing as insurance on my rear LED lights as they can pop out of that plastic housing, even after dremel tooling housing for depth clearance.

The rubber gasket will keep the lamp holder from vibrating around inside the housing. If you can find the way to fit it all back together dda you can put a couple dabs of clear RTV behind the lamp holder & inside, around the lens snap in place groove to keep it all vibration free and together. Lamp lasts longer as well.
